On Saturday, May 10, the Savannah Bananas brought their signature blend of baseball and entertainment to Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee—home of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans—and True Pitch was proud to help make it happen.
The nationally televised game, aired in primetime on ESPN2, was one of the most ambitious stops yet on the Bananas’ wildly popular Banana Ball World Tour. With more than 70,000 seats and a one-of-a-kind energy, Nissan Stadium presented a unique challenge: transforming a football field into a baseball stage fit for the most-watched team in the sport.
Thanks to a collaborative effort and an all-hands-on-deck approach, it came together—and True Pitch was right at the center of it.
Weathering the Storm, Rising to the Moment
The True Pitch crew arrived in Nashville on Wednesday, ready to get to work alongside field crews and other partners. But Mother Nature had other plans.
“It poured,” said Brad Lamberti, VP of Sales. “We were forced to adjust quickly—pushing back some parts of the setup and working in tighter windows once the rain let up. But that’s what makes this team great—we find a way.”
Despite the delay, the team successfully installed the True Pitch 318-G, a full-regulation 18-foot mound built to professional baseball standards and trusted by teams at every level of the game including NFHS, NCAA, and MLB.
A Night to Remember
“Being part of this game was an incredible experience,” said Greg Goeders, Owner of True Pitch. “We’ve supplied mounds for fields around the world, but placing one at midfield in an NFL stadium for a sellout crowd—and a national TV audience—was unforgettable.”
The mound wasn’t just there for looks—it was there for performance. The 318-G provided a consistent, stable surface for both the Bananas and their opponents, The Party Animals, on a stage unlike any other.
Teamwork Behind the Scenes
“There was a lot of hands-on effort,” said Riley Lockwood, a member of the True Pitch sales team. “From unloading to leveling and making sure it looked sharp on camera, we were there every step. Seeing it all come together with 70,000 fans in the stands made the long days worth it.”
Working alongside the Bananas’ operations crew and field managers gave the True Pitch team a front-row seat to the care and professionalism that powers the most entertaining team in baseball.
“They’re pros, top to bottom,” Goeders added. “With a Fans First attitude, we saw how their team looks out for the fans, they care about the experience and the product, and they respect the game. We’re humbled to be a part of it.”
More to Come
The Nashville game marked the first in a series of Banana Ball events using True Pitch mounds—and it’s just the beginning. The next two games putting the 318-G to use are at Bank of America Stadium, home of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, North Carolina.
“We’re proud to support the Bananas and Party Animals as they bring baseball to bigger stages and new audiences,” Lamberti says. “We can’t wait to get to the next NFL stadium for back-to-back games in early June—mound in hand.”
