We haven’t been in business for 50 years by mistake. As the “Original Portable Mound
Company,” we are singularly focused on delivering the best mounds to our customers. And at
the top of our list is player safety.
Our portable mounds are designed to exact specifications that ensure an authentic gameplay
experience, along with these safety features:
- Construction
Our mounds are the most technologically advanced on the market. Our patented
process ensures our reinforced fiberglass mounds are light and durable. That means
they can take a beating—True Pitch Mounds are used as some of the busiest ballparks in
the country including Ballparks of America in Missouri, Baseball Heaven in New York,
and TBK Bank Sports Complex in Iowa—without the kind of wear and tear that could
compromise the playing surface and lead to an injury.
- Pitching Table
Our mounds promote a gameplay experience that mimics that of traditional mounds.
Our pitching table meets the rigorous standards of Little League®, Babe Ruth League®,
the NCAA®, Major League Baseball® and more. This commitment to meeting these specifications means pitchers are ensured of a consistent playing surface, reducing the
risk of injury from having to adjust to vastly different specifications.
- Proper Slope
Whether it is a mound intended for young players or a bump for use in the NCAA®, we
pay attention to the little things like mound slope to ensure arm angles and landing
zones are consistent with traditional mounds. Our mounds are designed with 1 inch of
drop for every linear foot to create the proper slope.
- Generous in Size
Our mounds are generous in size. This ensures that pitchers have the same experiencing
spinning to pick a player off as they would on a traditional mound. There is no greater
risk for a lower-extremity injury because there isn’t a sudden drop off on the sides or
back of our mounds (that is not the case with many portable mounds).
- Tapered Front Edge
Our tapered front edge is patented and provides a smooth transition to the playing field
to limit the risk of a bad hop on a ball hit back to the pitcher. We have poured a ton of
engineering expertise into getting our front edge just right.
